Vmware released security updates to address security vulnerability (CVE-2022-31676) in VMware Tools. VMware has evaluated this issue to be in the Important severity range with a CVSSv3 base score of 7.0. A malicious actor could exploit this vulnerability to trigger privilege escalation on affected system. The flaw affects VMware Tools versions 12.x.y, 11.x.y and 10.x.y and has been remediated in versions 12.1.0, 10.3.25.
