Researchers at Tenable have found six critical vulnerabilities in the latest firmware version for the Netgear Nighthawk R6700v3 router. These flaws (CVE-2021-20173, CVE-2021-20174, CVE-2021-20175, CVE-2021-23147, CVE-2021-45732, CVE-2021-45077) could allow an attacker to take complete control of the device. The recently disclosed flaws affect firmware version 1.0.4.120, which is the latest release for the device. Researchers advise users to change the default credentials to something strong, follow recommended security practices for more robust defense against malware infections and install new versions of firmware as soon as they become available.
