Adobe warns Windows 10 users to uninstall Flash Player
On December 31, 2020, support for Adobe Flash Player will end permanently. Bleeping Computer reporters noticed that Windows users can now see alerts in which Adobe recommends that they remove Flash Player.
The publication notes that for this Flash Player creates a scheduled task "Adobe Flash Player PPAPI Notifier", which executes the following command:
"C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil32_32_0_0_465_pepper.exe" -update pepperplugin
When this command is executed, a message is displayed in which Adobe thanks people for using Adobe Flash Player and then recommends uninstalling the program due to the upcoming end of life.
The company also said that beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe will block any Flash content from running.
