Hackers hide malware in the graphics card’s memory

Hackers have developed a method for inserting and storing malicious code in the graphics card’s memory, as a result of which it cannot be detected by the antivirus software. It is unknown how exactly works the exploit.

The hacker who wrote it only said that it allows to insert malware inside of VRAM, and then execute the malware directly from there. He also added that the exploit only works on Windows operating systems that support versions 2.0 and above of the OpenCL framework. The hacker stated that he tested the performance of the malware on Intel UHD 620 and UHD 630, Radeon RX 5700, GeForce GTX 1650 and GeForce GTX 740M graphics cards.
