Microsoft warns of a dangerous miner virus

Microsoft digital security experts are warning users about the spread of the LemonDuck virus. According to experts, as soon as it gets to the computer, it creates a botnet network for mining the Monero cryptocurrency.

The virus gets to the computers through phishing emails, USB flash drives and security vulnerabilities. Microsoft has warned that mostly owners of devices based on Windows and Linux operating systems suffer from it.

"Once on a computer through an Outlook mailbox, as part of its usual behavior, LemonDuck tries to run a script that steals information about the accounts present on the device," the company said in a statement.
