“GhostLock” Linux flaw has been discovered
Linux kernel vulnerability, dubbed GhostLock and identified as CVE-2026-43499 allows local attacker to achieve local privilege escalation to root on an affected Linux system. The GhostLock vulnerability had been present in the Linux kernel for about 15 years, since 2011 and affects major Linux distributions. System owners are strongly advised to review affected Linux systems and apply the latest kernel security updates from their respective Linux distribution vendors as soon as possible to reduce potential risks.
