CopyFail vulnerability allows to get root rights in Linux
A CopyFail vulnerability has been found in the Linux kernel that allows to gain root access. The vulnerability has received the identifier CVE-2026-31431 and allows a local user to elevate their rights to root. The problem was assigned a high level of danger — 7.8 CVSS points. Patches for CVE-2026-31431 have already been released by developers of Debian, Ubuntu, SUSE and other distributions.
